What is our expertize?
- Narrowing of the gap between knowledge and the mainstream implementation of science through the development of recommendations that establish a process of science to policy. Supporting not only science implementation, but also the capacity to implement policy based on science.
- Promoting the involvement of citizens in the scientific process by implementing the Citizen Science concept to the research and projects developed by the institute.
- Develop research in the areas of:
- Public Health and Environmental Health in connection to Climate Change;
- Mental Health and Neurosciences, specially on the exposome and other factors that may impact human health, and more specifically people’s mental health.
- Developing research that explores the boundaries of research, that depict already established and scientifically accepted, is still poorly understood;
- Support the development of policy recommendations that support the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
- Develop ethics & project security assessments.
Besides our expertise, we also develop other activities more focused on the educational side of our work. We develop online campaigns, through our newsletter and social media, that targets communities, as well as developing training programs, and formal and non-formal educational projects, within the scope of higher and non-higher education.
As a nonprofit, we started working on health promotion in 2008 under the name of ADIJ. In 2018 the institute was registered as Health Citizens.
